Meet Our Staff

Greg Weckenbrock started OWL in 2010 with CPW. He has been with the program every step of the way. Before being full-time with OWL, Mr. Weckenbrock was a social studies and science teacher in D51.

Mark Allen is the Principal of both Gateway School and OWL. Mr. Allen joined the OWL team in 2019 and performs all of the administrative duties required in developing OWL into a district wide program. If Mr. Allen has a spare minute, you'll find him connecting with students and contributing to their learning.

Matt White joined the team in 2021 as the Administrative Specialist for OWL. Matt is an avid outdoorsman from Washington state. He studied German and Russian for undergrad and has experience in the outdoor industry. Matt will greet you with a smile in the OWL/ Gateway front office. 

Abby Roehm joined the OWL team when it moved to Gateway in 2019 but has been with Gateway School since 2012. She is a Jill of all trades. Her titles are Administrative Assistant, Para Librarian, and Health Assistant but she is so much more to us! Abby is the go-to person for so many wacky inquires OWL staff has. 

AmeriCorps Member Erin Stepchuk joined the OWL team in August, 2020 as an AmeriCorps Instructor. She is from Pennsylvania, earned a degree in Natural Resource Conservation from University of Florida, and continued her journey here to Colorado for a year of service with OWL. 

AmeriCorps Member Delaney Neal rejoined the OWL team in September, 2020. She graduated from Colorado Mesa University with a degree in K-12 Adaptive Physical Education. This will be her third year with OWL but she is in a new role as an AmeriCorps Instructor. 

Hilary is the Outdoor School Cook and joined the OWL team for its first year in Gateway. The students appreciate her delicious meals at throughout the day. She provides an area of community and reflection for students who have worked up an appetite. 

Eli joined Gateway School and the OWL team in 2020. He is the Grounds Keeper and Custodian. He his a multi-talented craftsman making him the best man for the job. He has done so much for the OWL facilities ensuring they are safe and ready for students.
